The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) wanted to reduce employee attrition and improve career development opportunities. They requested a tool to help employees explore career paths within the agency and plan their next steps.
Task
Build a Career Mapping Tool for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
- Solution: I created low-fidelity mockups for an interactive career mapping tool that allows users to:
- Compare career paths: See how different roles within the VA connect and visualize potential career progressions.
- Review competencies and identify gaps: Identify the skills and experience required for different positions and assess their own qualifications.
- Explore alternative paths: Discover new career opportunities they may not have considered based on their skills and interests.
- Results: The VA implemented the tool and it has been successful in reducing employee attrition.
