This is my bird Princess. She passed away in my hand this morning at 10:30. She had been sick and at an animal hospital for a week. We took her home yesterday. She was looking a little better until this morning. Suddenly, she couldn’t stand, eat, drink, and her head lolled to one side. I held her like that for two hours as she looked up at me blinking acknowledgment and eventually acceptance. I felt her heart start to race and then slow and slow and…slow. She then lifted her head up and dropped it softly down.
She was my friend for seven years. I’ll miss this little bird more than I can explain.
