Can’t sleep tonight for no particular reason.
Turn on the TV and wonder what it takes to get a studio audience at an infomercial. They all look either a little sedated or out of their minds with joy. Somehow a sharp knife has never had that effect on me.
Go out to get coffee in the pre-dawn hours. It feels kind of wrong, like people are looking at me going “what the hell are you doing out here?”.
Waking me up more than the coffee is Rush on the radio. He talks about “the liberal wacko dream of having an electric car back in the 90’s”. This will be my first taste of rage for the day. I shut it off and wonder how far we could evolve as a species if we ONLY stopped the name calling. I’d even put learning to listen to each other at a distant second.
Still bleary eyed as I get home and decide to stare at the computer for a while. I think of some projects to work on (yeah Doug-your site, I’m working on it) but, here I am wasteing time first.
Looking at the pile of gadgets on my desk I think about Apple. If they don’t have a “PDA Killer” in development I’d really be shocked. I can store contacts and appointments on my iPod but, I really don’t want to. I also don’t want to enter the same info into my cell phone as my PDA. I just hooked up my very old Palm m100 and have it working with OSX supriseingly. But really I want one device, and I want it from Apple because they know how to do it right – let’s face it. MP3 player, photos, video, cell phone and PDA all in one; that doesn’t way 5 pounds or require a backpack to carry about. I know they have that out there behind a black curtain. Most likely not to be released for two years or until after I have caved and bought a Sidekick or Blackberry.
